Legal Aid of Western Michigan (LAWM) is a nonprofit law firm that provides advice, brief services and representation to low-income persons. LAWM’s practice areas include housing, family law, public benefits defense, consumer cases, and education. LAWM serves 17 counties in southwest Michigan from its five offices which are located in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Holland, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph.

LAWM - Mason County
Services in Mason County are provided by the Legal Aid of Western Michigan office in Muskegon as well as the Counsel and Advocacy Call Line (CALL).
Please contact the office for screening and intake. Generally, our attorneys speak with eligible clients by appointment only.
People living in or near poverty and Seniors in Mason County may also use the Guide to Legal Help or call the CALL hotline at (888) 783-8190 if they do not have an open case with an attorney in this office.
LAWM - Muskegon and Oceana Counties
Services in Muskegon and Oceana counties are provided through the Counsel and Advocacy Call Line (CALL) and Muskegon office:

Some matters will be handled by attorneys over the telephone.
In more complex matters, such as those where the attorneys believe that more extensive representation may be necessary and the case is one that Legal Aid of Western Michigan would handle, the case will be assigned to an attorney for an in-person meeting.
