Have you faced eviction or debt collection in Michigan and got a default judgment? (This means you missed court and the judge decided the case without you.)

Were you evicted by the sheriff and never went to court?

Have you had money taken from your paycheck, bank account, or tax refund for an unpaid debt?

Food Stamp (FAP) Calculator

Use this calculator to help you find out if you are eligible to get Food Stamps (FAP). You will go to the LawHelp Interactive website to use this calculator. After you answer the questions, you will get a Food Stamps Summary that you will need to download. You can save or print out the summary. It will tell you if your household is eligible for Food Stamps, and give you an estimated benefit amount.

If you have a question about whether or not you are eligible for food stamps (FAP), or if you feel you have been wrongly denied or aren't getting the correct amount, you may be able to get help from the Counsel and Advocacy Law Line. This is a free legal aid hotline. To find out if they can help you, apply online(link is external) or call 1-888-783-8190 Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5pm, or Friday, 9am - 1pm.

Our forms are always free. You will leave Michigan Legal Help and go to our partner site to create forms. The LawHelp Interactive website asks for an optional donation. You do not need to pay anything.
