Services in Ionia county are provided through the Grand Rapids office:

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The office is closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day.

Attorneys in this office see clients by appointment only. You can use the Guide to Legal Help or call the office for an intake.

*For the convenience of clients, appointments may be scheduled at the DHS office.  However, Attorneys are at this outreach site only to meet with people who have previously scheduled appointments.  If no appointments were scheduled or the attorney has already met with those scheduled, he or she may not be present.  By calling in advance, you will avoid wasting your time and travel going to a site only to find that the attorney is not available.

Services in Mecosta county are provided through the Counsel and Advocacy Call Line (CALL) and Grand Rapids office:

*Low income persons and Seniors in Mecosta county can use the Guide to Legal Help or call 1-888-783-8190 if they do not have an open case with an attorney in this office.

The phone lines are open Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Some matters will be handled by attorneys over the telephone.  

In more complex matters--such as those where the attorneys believe that more extensive representation may be necessary and the case is one that Legal Aid of Western Michigan would handle, the case will be assigned to an attorney for an in-person meeting.
