The Friend of the Court (FOC) is part of the family division of the circuit court in each county, and is supervised by the chief judge. The role of the FOC is to assist the court in cases involving custody, parenting time, child support or spousal support. Some of the duties that the FOC performs are listed below:
- The FOC investigates and issues recommendations on custody, parenting time, child support, and medical support;
- The FOC helps the parties settle disputes during and after their case; and
- The FOC provides enforcement services on existing custody, parenting time, and support orders

Keweenaw County
No physical office, appointments are made by calling the Houghton County office at the above number.
