The Legal Self-Help Center of Grand Traverse County has two locations where there are staff who are trained to help visitors use the Michigan Legal Help website. These staff members are called “navigators,” and they can help you access information about handling some kinds of legal matters without a lawyer.
In addition to the website, navigators can help visitors find instructions for completing their legal process, answer simple questions about forms that are available on the website, and find community resources that may help with your legal problem. Navigators can provide legal information, but not legal advice. Navigators welcome any and all questions and will let you know if your question is outside of what they can provide. If you need legal advice, please contact a lawyer. If you would like help finding a lawyer, please use the Guide to Legal Help.
The network locations are at the 86th District Court, 280 Washington Avenue, 1st Floor, and the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Avenue, both in Traverse City.
