Find a Self-Help Center near you

Self-Help Center staff can help you navigate the website to find information, forms, and instructions. They can help explain legal information, but cannot give legal advice. Any information given to staff will be kept private. To find a Self Help Center go to the Self-Help Center page and select your county at the top of the page.

You can use the interactive map below to find the nearest legal self-help centers. Check if there is a self-help center in the courthouse where you are going to file. Consider using that center even if another center is closer. They may have the best information for your case.

LiveHelp is open from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday through Friday most business days. Click the red “Need Help?” button to chat online with someone who can help point you to specific resources.

If you are contacting us outside of these hours, you can still leave a message by clicking the red “Need Help?” button and an agent will respond via email when available.

Find a Lawyer

If you want to find a lawyer in Michigan, you can click this link to complete the Guide to Legal Help. The Guide will ask you a few questions. You will get a personalized results page with information about your legal issue, a lawyer referral service, and/or contact information for community resources. The Guide will also give you referrals for free legal services if you qualify.
