Michigan Legal Help Self-Help Center Network of Wayne County

The Wayne County Self-Help Center will be CLOSED the week of May 29th for Memorial Day and construction related to the Grand Prix. The center will re-open for regular hours on Monday, June 5th, 2023.

The Michigan Legal Help Self-Help Center is located in the Coleman A. Young Center on the 19th Floor (Room-1911) located at 2 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Michigan. The Self-Help Center has court staff who are trained to help visitors use the Michigan Legal Help website. These staff members are called “navigators,” and they can help you access information about handling some kinds of legal matters without a lawyer.

In addition to the website, navigators can help visitors find instructions for completing their legal process, answer simple questions about forms that are available on the website, and find community resources that may help with your legal problem.  Navigators can provide legal information, but not legal advice. Navigators welcome any and all questions and will let you know if your question is outside of what they can provide. If you need legal advice, please contact a lawyer. If you would like help finding a lawyer, please use the Guide to Legal Help.

Patrons must arrive by 2 pm to receive service. The center must close promptly at 3 pm.
