Mental Health and Crisis Help Lines

Dealing with legal matters can be stressful. Here are some resources if you or someone you know needs help.

For immediate crisis help:

If you or someone you know has suicidal thoughts, help is available.

Call or text 988 or go to 988lifeline.org to be connected to the suicide and crisis lifeline. It is available 24/7. For TTY users, dial 711 and then 1-800-273-8255. You can also call 988 with your preferred relay service.

If you want help from a local Community Mental Health Services Program and need to speak to someone immediately, go to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services crisis line page. Scroll down the page for local options.

For other kinds of support:

If you are not currently in crisis but want mental health services, visit the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan Directory.

You can also call the Michigan Peer Warmline. It is a phone line you can call for mental health and substance use support. The line is staffed by people who have lived through hard times in their own mental health. Call 1-888-PEER-753 (1-888-733-7753). This line is open every day from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m.
