Adams-Pratt Law Library

The Adams-Pratt Law Library is the only public law library in southeast Michigan. It offers access to state and federal legal resources provided in electronic and print formats. Services are available to the general public, attorneys and other legal professionals, court employees, and students.

Reference staff help patrons find relevant legal resources and direct them to pertinent court rules, procedures, and forms. Services include:

  • Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive Michigan primary and secondary law collection and selected federal materials which aligns with the di minimus structure
  • Directs the public to resources pertinent to their questions about the law and instructs them on their use
  • Serves as a Michigan Legal Help Self-Help Center and hosts legal aid clinics to assist public access to justice through local and state court systems
  • Provides free computer access for legal research
  • Participates in the federal and state government depository programs to give the public free and local access to government legal publications
  • Assists the public with court proceedings by providing court rules, procedural information, and forms

The Adams-Pratt Law Library also hosts legal aid clinics to help the public understand their rights, explain court procedures and forms, provide referrals, and answer general questions. For details, call the Library or check our website.
